Reiki

(pronounced Ray-key)

Reiki is a channelling of the Universal Energy through the practitioner into the client for their body to use where it needs it. This may not be where you think it needs it! Most symptoms are not generally the cause of the problem - they are just the way the body tells you that something needs fixing.

Reiki is very useful for energy boosts and a general feeling of well-being as well as for recovery after illness, operations or pregnancy.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a complementary therapy based on the same principles as Chinese acupuncture. Pressure-points in the foot or hand are massaged and the use of this knowledge can be traced back thousands of years in the Chinese culture, as well as the Ancient Egyptians, Hopi tribes of North America and 16th century European medical practitioners. Reflexology is based on the theory that every organ, area and system of the body is mirrored by a reflex point in the feet or hands. By massaging these points the reflexologist can observe and facilitate a clearing of any blockages in the corresponding areas of the body. The body's equilibrium is restored, and the body can begin to function properly.  The treatment should leave you feeling relaxed and stress free.

Reflexology Treatment

Foot reflexology - Your first treatment will begin with a few minutes to complete a consultation sheet, then you will be invite dto sit in a comfortable chair which is then reclined and pillows are put under your feet so that they are at a level for the therapist to work on.  You only need to remove your footwear, including socks/tights. If you would like to have your feet washed before treatment, please mention this to the therapist when you arrive for the appointment.

What can Reflexology do for you?

Since reflexology treats the whole person, not just the symptoms of disease, most people benefit from treatment. Reflexology is suitable for:

Acute and chronic conditions

Stress related conditions

Sleep disorders

Children and adults

Sports injuries

Preventative therapy

Indeed reflexology can benefit almost everyone. An increasing number of people are using this safe, natural therapy as a way of relaxing, balancing and harmonising the body.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy where the client is lead into a deeply relaxed state by the therapist.  Once in that state, the sub-concious mind can have previously agreed subtle suggestions made which allow you, the client, to assist in your own change for the good.

Hypnotherapy is useful to help with stopping smoking, weight loss, anxiety, nerves, stress, fears and phobias.  In fact, if you genuinely want the change to happen, then hypnotherapy can help.

There is no fear of being made to do anything that you don't want to do as your own moral compass and beliefs prevent this from happening.

To explain a bit more, if you think of the human body as a computer which operates using a built-in system, the sub-concious is the over-riding programme and what we perceive daily is like the windows controlling background programmes. Hypnotherapy adds a line of code to the built-in programme, but it needs the windows to idle which is why you need to be in an extremely relaxed state.

Hopi Ear Candles

Hopi Ear candles are named after the Native American tribe who first introduced this gentle therapy to the West.  The Hopi nation is renowned for their extensive knowledge of healing and their spiritual lifestyle.  The translation of the word Hopi is ‘peaceful ones’.

The ear candles are hollow tubes of pesticide free, untreated cotton, impregnated with pure beeswax, honey extract and traditional herbs such as sage, St.John’s Wort, camomile and pure essential oils.

The Hopi Ear candle treatment

The treatment is very gentle and relaxing and takes half to three quarters of an hour.

The candle is placed over the ear orifice and ignited at the far end.  It is only allowed to burn down to the line marked on the outside of the make of candle used.  A light suction action (chimney effect) and the movementof the flame create a vibration in the ear candle, generating a massage-like effect on the eardrum and drawing out excess earwax.  This induces a pleasant feeling of warmth and a balance of pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses.

Each ear is treated in turn, and then the treatment is concluded with a head and face massage, which concentrates on the sinus areas.

What can a Hopi Earcandle treatment do for you?

The treatment is soothing and helpful for the alleviation of earache and headache, earnoise, stress and nervousness.

Note that it is not suitable for those with perforated eardrums, where grommets are fitted, or for anyone who has an allergy to any of the ingredients.  You should also not receive a treatment if you have a current ear infection.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medical therapy that stimulates the energy channels in the body mainly through the use of fine, disposable, sterilised needles that are inserted into points of the body in order to promote healing and reduce pain.

The needles are used only once. For those who are wary about the use of needles should know that needle-less treatments are available through Acupressure, which uses the  fingers and other blunt therapeutic tools to gently massage the acupuncture points, in order to promote healing and electro-acupuncture, which uses a mild pain-free electrode to stimulate the acupuncture points.

Also available is Needleless Acupuncture Therapy with Electrodes or special cups (no needles are used)

A treatment costs £35 and lasts around one hour.

What is Thought Field Therapy?

Thought Field Therapy (TFT) is a technique for the rapid elimination of all types of emotional stress. It works rather like acupuncture by stimulating the body’s energy meridians. What can TFT be used for?

Addictions; lack of confidence; anger; love pain; anxiety; migraine; bereavement; Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD); depression; pain; eating disorders; panic attacks; emotional problems; Post Viral Fatigue (ME); fear of flying; phobias; grief; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); insomnia; rage; Irritable Bowel Syndrome; sexual problems; Jet lag; stopping smoking; jealousy and traumas

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

The meaning of NLP, which was developed in the early 1970’s by scientist Richard Bandler and linguistics Professor John Grinder is:-

Neuro - our neurology and thinking processes.

Linguistic - the language we use and how we are influenced by it.

Programming - our patterns of behaviour and the goals we set.

NLP can be described as the software for the brain. It enables us to gain control of our feelings and emotions. NLP shows how to communicate with yourself and others in an empowering and positive way. NLP recognises the importance of physiology in sustaining and changing internal states. If you are depressed, for example, it is possible to take positive steps to change the state, to one of happiness. Adding positive affirmations will also bring about a change of state.  We respond to our thoughts and memories. Our experiences have structure; if the structure is changed, the experience will automatically change.

We already have all the resources we need for peak performance. By studying and modelling the behaviour of those who excel, we too can excel. We are always communicating - our thoughts are our communication with ourselves.
